[2024-02-01] Happy birthday, Sorted Puzzles!

Ohayō, puzzlers! It’s the second anniversary of Sorted Puzzles today; two whole wonderful Earth-years of daily puzzles. I want to commend and congratulate everyone who has been on this delightfully puzzling journey because it is an undoubtedly remarkable achievement. You’re all flawlessly logical, and I sincerely appreciate all of you.

In the year that was, there weren’t as many new puzzle books published as I would have liked and I’m sure that all of you wanted. So, in the year that is now, I promise that the paperback catalog will get loads of new additions and it will not be left incomplete. Thank you for being patient with me.

Furthermore, in its third year of existence, exciting things are afoot for this little puzzle blog. Several new puzzle types will be added to Daily Puzzles in the coming days and their puzzle books (paperbacks) will be available soon as well. There is also a Bookshop in the works with a huge catalog of interactive and printable puzzle ebooks, but more details on that will follow soon! The latter project has been demanding a lot of effort and mental space, so please send words of encouragement to sortedpuzzles(at)gmail(dot)com, lol.

As you might already know, Sorted Puzzles paperbacks are printed and distributed exclusively by Amazon. There have been changes at Amazon with respect to printing expenses and publishing schedules. This means that new puzzle books will cost a tiny bit more to print and get published only a few at a time. Please check this post/page regularly for updates because whenever a title is available for purchase, I will add it to the list given below.

Thank you all, for being such awesome people.

New titles in the Ready, Steady, Solve! Logic Puzzles book series:

[2024-01-26] Archipelago, Corner Loop, and Cross Math

[2023-03-19] Additions to the paperback catalog

Several new titles have been added to the 10-in-1 puzzle book series (including one of Sandwich Sudoku and its different variant combos) and the 5-in-1 puzzle book series (all shading puzzles). They are all available for purchase on Amazon. Check them out!

If you enjoyed exploring the variety of puzzles in the Ultimate Puzzle Collection, there are now thousands more puzzles to solve in Book II, Parts I–IV of the series! The book format is the same as Book I and instructions for a few puzzles have been updated for clarity.

Happy puzzling!

[2023-03-01] Post schedule changes + New titles in the 5-in-1 puzzle book series

March is here and the days are sunny again (in my part of the world, atleast! ). With the changing season, it’s only fair to try doing something new. Thus,

New Thing #1: The Daily Puzzles post schedule goes back to one-puzzle-a-day for Mon-Fri posted at 0400 UTC, and now two-puzzles-a-day every weekend (at 0400 UTC and 1600 UTC).

New Thing #2: New paperback titles in the 5-in-1 puzzle book series are available for purchase on Amazon – all the brilliant grid division puzzles and two special collections, namely, ‘Dot Lattice Loop’ logic puzzles and ‘Twin and Symmetry’ logic puzzles. Happy puzzling!

[2023-01-28] First Anniversary Celebration

February 1, 2023, marks an entire year of puzzles on SortedPuzzles. Isn’t that exciting? Congratulations to all puzzlers that embarked and kept on this journey!

To celebrate this milestone, there will be two puzzles posted every day for the month of February (at 0400 UTC and 1600 UTC). There will be some new puzzle types (thanks to the puzz.link update) and new puzzle books, and hopefully everyone will be able to find something they like.

In other news, the much-awaited 5-in-1 puzzle book series is now available for purchase on Amazon. There are all new puzzles in these travel-friendly paperback puzzle collections; check them out!

[2023-01-04] New Ready, Steady, Solve! Logic Puzzles

Celebrate the New Year with new puzzle books!

Twelve new titles have been added to the Ready, Steady, Solve! Logic Puzzles book series. These puzzles are Akari/Mirror Akari (or Light Up), Castle Wall, Coffee Milk, Correct Connection, Country Road, Geradeweg, Heyawake, Kuroclone, Line Segment, Santoitchi, Satogaeri, and Yajisan-Sokoban.

The new puzzles will show up in Daily Puzzles in the coming days. Happy puzzling!

[2022-11-20] Links to Puzz.Link + New Hosting

Recent updates to Puzz.Link seem to have affected some of the old ‘Solve Online’ links. I’ll try and find and fix the wayward links in the puzzle archive in the next few days.

Interestingly, many new puzzles were added to puzz.link in their update. I’m excited to learn more about these puzzles and maybe they will find their way here as well.

In another bit of news, I’m changing the site’s hosting provider. Sorted Puzzles might therefore disappear for some hours tomorrow. Don’t be mad, I’ll be back.

Update: Migrating to the new host all done!

If you find an issue with the puzzles at the penpa+ interface and/or links to puzz.link and penpa+, please send me a message at sortedpuzzles(at)gmail(dot)com.

[2022-11-15] The Ultimate Puzzle Collection (Parts I–IV)

The world of logic puzzles is wonderfully diverse. There are so many kinds of puzzles that it is easy to get overwhelmed, more so when you are a beginner.

A while ago, I decided to undertake an ambitious book project – I wanted to collate all the different sorts of puzzles I could find and make them accessible to both beginners and experienced puzzlers. Early in the planning stage, I realised I had underestimated how creative puzzle inventors are and overestimated my ability to showcase them all – even after exercising editorial discretion, I had hundreds of puzzles to make into a book!

This was, however, such a happy problem to solve; I finally chose 200 puzzles and divided the collection into four parts. Each part of this rather immodestly titled ‘The Ultimate Puzzle Collection’ has a similar mix of grid placement, shading, loop, conection/path, and grid division puzzles. In addition to showcasing the puzzle variety, there are 20 puzzles that progressively increase in difficulty for each of the 50 different puzzle types in each part of the book – indeed, this book series is a worthy challenge for your brain cells!

This new book series has been months(!) in the making and I’m so happy to finally be able to say that the books are available for purchase on Amazon. Get more details about the Ultimate Puzzle Collection on its series page.

[2022-10-28] The 10-in-1 Puzzle Books

A new series of puzzle books is here!

These are the biggest books in the catalog yet, 10-in-1 collections of puzzles that are variations on a theme. With a total of 1000 puzzles to solve in each book, all that’s needed these holidays (besides these puzzle books) is a cosy little space in your home and a stock of sturdy pencils!

Read all about these books on the series page.

[2022-10-10] What’s all the buzz about?

All good websites have a News page or a Changelog. I feel a little silly that I didn’t think of it until now.

Embarrassing lapses and delays aside, this page has been created primarily to bring you announcements of new books added to the catalog.

And perhaps about all the other happy developments that I cannot talk about yet!
